What Family Hub Is

Family Hub is a family organization application that helps families manage calendars, school schedules, lunch menus, and daily logistics in one place. The app is operated by Family Hub.

Information We Collect

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account. If you grant calendar access, we read your Google Calendar events to display them on your dashboard. We do not modify or delete any calendar data.

Information you provide directly includes your family name, children's names, school information, and calendar feed URLs you choose to add.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to provide the Family Hub service: displaying your calendar events, school schedules, lunch menus, and family logistics on your personalized dashboard. We do not use your data for advertising, marketing, or any purpose unrelated to the core service.

Google Calendar Data

Family Hub requests read-only access to your Google Calendar. This means we can view your calendar events but cannot create, edit, or delete them. Calendar data is fetched in real-time when you load the dashboard and is not permanently stored on our servers. We use the Google Calendar API in compliance with Google's Limited Use Requirements.

Data Storage

Your account information and family settings are stored in a secure PostgreSQL database hosted by Supabase. Data is encrypted in transit via HTTPS. We store only the minimum data necessary to provide the service.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties. We do not share your data with advertisers. The only third-party services that receive your data are Google (for authentication and calendar access) and Supabase (for data storage).

Data Retention and Deletion

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us. When you revoke Google Calendar access, we immediately stop accessing your calendar data.

Children's Privacy

Family Hub stores children's first names, grade levels, and teacher names as provided by parents or guardians. We do not collect information directly from children. All children's data is entered and managed by the parent or guardian account holder.

Security

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, secure authentication via Google OAuth 2.0, and database encryption. Access to user data is restricted to authenticated users viewing only their own family's information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the date at the top of this page.
